Ankomst: Kastrup, Malmö, vejeneArriving: Kastrup, Malmö, the roads

Regionen har to lufthavne og én bro. The region has two airports and one bridge. Most arrivals end on a platform, whatever the plane did first.

Kastrup is the region’s main airport, with the terminals gathered by the Sound and the railway and metro right beside them. The metro takes the centre in minutes; the trains across the bridge run from the same platform level. This makes Kastrup the easiest entry into the region, whichever shore you are heading to.

Malmö airport, at Sturup inside Skåne, serves the eastern shore with buses into Malmö. It is a smaller airport, and the distance makes it a choice rather than a default: many pick Kastrup even for Malmö, because the train makes the journey just as quick.

On the Danish side E6 and E47 run south along Zealand toward the bridge, where E20 takes across. On the Scanian side E20 splits from E6, which continues along the coast toward Helsingborg and up through Sweden. The payment at Lernacken is described in the crossing entry.

The old way across the Sound still exists: the ferry between Helsingør and Helsingborg crosses the narrow stretch in the north, where the strait is closer to a river than a sea. That trip takes longer and is a trip in itself.
